He has been licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas since\u00a0<strong>1983<\/strong>. \u00a0A graduate from the\u00a0<strong>University of Texas School of Law with Honors in 1983<\/strong>, he earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice, with Honors, from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1980.<br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Davis McCown was an\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">Assistant District Attorney<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">\u00a0in the Tarrant County District Attorney&#8217;s Office from\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">1983 to 1991<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">. For the last five years of that time he was assigned to the\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">Economic Crimes Section<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">, were he prosecuted\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">major frauds\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">and\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">high tech crimes<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">. He was eventually appointed\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">Chief of the Economic Crimes Section<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">, where he was responsible for supervising all of the investigations and prosecutions conducted by the section. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.4rem;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 Mr. McCown is a member of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, American Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, \u00a0Texas State Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>Computer and Technology Section &#8211; Texas State Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>Litigation Section &#8211; Texas State Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>Science and Technology Section &#8211; American Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>General Practice, Solo and Small Firm, Texas State Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division, American Bar Association<\/li>\n<li>Litigation Section &#8211; American Bar Association<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Davis McCown has spoken nationally on issues relating to Computer Crimes and Prosecutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr. McCown handles matters involving:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Probate and estate planning;<\/li><li>Libel, Defamation, and First Amendment Rights;<\/li><li>Computers, Software and Technology;<\/li><li>Civil Litigation, Federal and State;<\/li><li>Criminal Litigation involving Computers and Technology;<\/li><li>In addition, Mr. McCown handles other legal matters.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr. McCown is a former&nbsp;member of the District 7 and 14B Subcommittee of the Unauthorized Practice of Law&nbsp;Committee of the State of Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr. McCown is a Director of the <em>Six Flags Association of Former Employees,&nbsp;<\/em>a non-profit organization. He is the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/lavacapublications.com\/articles\/six-flags-history-book\/\">Six Flags Over Texas, the First Fifty Years<\/a>, a pictorial history of the Six Flags Over Texas Amusement Park.
